2010-2011 Monthly Meetings!!
- October mtg. - Mostly discussed the haunted house, future meeting dates, and reviewed obligations to all members.
- November 1st - Reminders for report cards by 11-5, T-shirt forms are due Nov. 12th, evaluations of the haunted house were distributed and should have been turned in by now, announcements of the following dates: BB/BS day on 11-20, Inductions on 12-3, and Make-A-Difference Day on 12-11.
- December 8th - Discussed with old members the previous projects just completed: BB/BS day went very well, the Soldier Care Package drive also did well, and our Induction Ceremony went very smooth. Some time was spent on discussing our obligations at this point due to some members not attending the Induction. We discussed Make-A-Difference Day and what everyone needed to do or know for this event. New members met at lunch and we summarized the meeting that took place with the old members, but spent much of the time informing them of their obligations and our demerit policy.
- January 5th - Discussed old business and showed pictures of Make-A-Difference Day. Angel Tree shopping went great. A photographer and writer from the Post was present. A picture and article was in the Christmas Eve edition of the Post. New business included report cards are due by Feb. 1st.; hours are due Jan. 13th for old members only (10 hours are required); Penny Wars will be the month of March; Big Brother Big Sister on Feb. 12th with a winter theme - mtg. for this on Jan. 12th at 7 A.M.; public library in town needs gloves and mittens by Friday.
- February 4th - Old business was to remind everyone that report cards and hours were due on Feb. 1st. Many members turned them in late since they waited for the last minute to turn them in. New business covered our Big Brother Big Sister Day on Feb. 12th from 1 to 5 P.M. Our agendas for the day are set, we just need to gather all the supplies and mentally prepare to lead each activity. Our next meeting will be Wednesday if you are in charge of the obstacle course, and then on Thursday at 7 A.M. for all of those helping out that day. Saturday, the 12th, arrive at 12:15 and plan to leave when the last kid leaves that day. We also discussed the upcoming Penny Wars that will begin February 18th and end on March 24th. There will be another meeting for those helping with this on February 14th at 7 A.M.
- March 2nd- Mr. Pastrick is in the process of updating all members on their status in terms of hours and demerits. If you do not hear from him by the end of this week, please see him. Updated everyone on the Penny Wars competition. Discussed Leadership Week in detail. As of now we have nothing definite; however, the officers are in charge of this week and will take any help from anyone interested in helping...just let them know you want to help out. If you are planning or thinking about running for an office for next year, you need to pick up an application outside Mr. Pastrick's room ASAP. We are working on a project called "Hoodies for Hope". This is to help a former student gather hooded sweatshirts for children at a Native American Reservation. All sweatshirts need to be dropped off by March 24th.
- April 6th - Old business: We reviewed our Penny War results (total of $2537 raised!; gathered over 150 hooded sweatshirts for the Native American kids in Minnesota; dropped off items gathered to The Caring Place. New business: Members were given tootsie roll suckers to hand out to someone spotted doing something helpful for someone else; report cards do NOT need to be handed in to me this quarter - I will check on them myself this time; hour sheets are only online now; suggestions for earning hours were discussed (concession stand at both the little league and soccer fields - ask me for further information); Indiana Beach trip will be in early June; Ronald McDonald House also in early June - this is only for 10 members though. Leadership Week was discussed thoroughly. See other page for details on this week. Any questions or comments, please submit them online to me.
- May 17th - Old business: Informed all members of their hours' status. Recapped leadership week and discussed new ideas. New business: June 22nd - Indiana Beach trip, permission slips and money are both due May 24th. July 15th is the trip to Ronald McDonald House. Those interested in going (only 10 max. may go) must write an essay explaining the importance of the House and why he/she should be chosen. All members filled in self-evaluations being leaving the meeting.
