Events held this year (2013-2014):
Haunted House: Over 700 people attended our Haunted House this year. Once again we raised more than $4000, all of which will be used to help families in need at Christmas.

Breast Cancer walk: We raised awareness and promoted a breast cancer walk in Valpo. We had about a dozen people attend and participate in the walk on October 20th.
Officers shopping spree for food pantry: Officers were invited to go shop for food pantry items the night before the food drive ended. They shopped at Patz's, then dropped off all the items at the school near each teacher's door.
November 23 - Big Brother Big Sister. We had just over 70 elementary students attend our first BBS event of the year. We did scavenger hunts, watched Turbo or Planes (kids could watch either one), played tag games, conducted an egg drop, colored, and much more. Kids also were served pizza and drink.
Christmas Lights 5K - Dec. 13. Had about 15 member help work this town event sponsored by Anytime Fitness. Fun event with about 50 participants and lots of neat activities for the kids.
Angel Tree Shopping - Dec. 14. We shopped for 36 angels and spent just over $5000 with the help of the Lion's Club. The following video shows some of the students that were able to go shopping and then help wrap presents.

2nd Grade Science Night - Jan. 12th. This was our 2nd year to host this event. We had over 70 of the second students attend. During the event, the 2nd graders traveled through 4 different stations. One was a P.E. room, another was a Mystery Room, a third was a planetarium, and the 4th was a crazy lab glow-in-the-dark room. Video of the event will be posted soon.
Penny Wars kickoff - March 3rd. Kicked off our annual fundraiser for the Pennies for Patients program. This year we had a convocation with the entire student body to address the rules, ETC. Making a surprise appearance was Mr. McLindon to help promote the event. This event lasts until the Thursday before Spring Break.
Big Brother Big Sister - March 15th. Had a really good turnout from the elementary students. Approximately 85 kids attended, and we had around 30 middle school students help out. Overall, not our best performance as we might have had too many older kids there to attend. Nice weather though finally, after a long winter, did allow us to take the kids outside and play for some time.
Cub Scout Night - April 1st. We had 11 cub scouts attend a night at the school for 2 hours to earn their NOVA science patch. This year we focused on the technology aspect of it so that when they left, they had completed everything needed for their patches. We watched a video about technology, took virtual field trips, conducted a few experiments, and had a lot of fun along the way.
