Make-A-Difference Day
For the 2014-2015 school year we went down to the elementary and decorated it with a wintery Christmas theme.

Use this link to watch a slideshow of Angel Tree shopping and wrapping the presents. I just added the 2nd one, which includes portions of the interviews, and a few more pictures.

We spent $4500, just a little less than we did last year, but it all goes to the same amazing cause. This year's shopping experience was by far one of the most interesting. The cash register crashed in the middle of the transaction, so we had to re-scan everything. We shopped for 30 families/kids.

Even smoother than the year before.
We spent $5511 this year, far exceeding the amount spent in any previous year. We have more to spend, we were also able to take all the NJHS members that worked in the Haunted House. Each room received at least 2 Angels to shop for, and were once again given a "wish list" of items to shop for, and a budget to stay under. We were still able to buy for 34 Angels, the town's food pantry, and also the town's clothing pantry.
On top of all this, we received a grant from Wal-Mart. We just received this money and hope to use it in the next few weeks to help more families out in our town.
Thanks to all the great parents that helped out with driving and wrapping the presents. We really appreciate it!
I hope all the kids that shopped remember this day forever.

Probably the smoothest this event has ever been.
The Angel Tree shopping was quick, effiicient, and went off with no glitches. We spent just over $3500 of our $3700 we made from the haunted house. We also purchased a number of items for the Town Food Pantry as well as the Town Clothing Center, and also for the Elementary school to have a few "extra" items when kids need them. The remaining money will be left in our funds for next year's Angel Tree shopping. A reporter from the Post showed up and took pictures as well as interviewed a handful of students.
We returned to the school around 12:30 P.M. and wrapped all the presents we purchased. Many other members showed up at this time to help, which was great. The Lions Club showed up at 1:30 P.M. to collect and deliver the items we had purchased for all the children.
The Caring Place scavenger hunt was tough this year due to the low temperatures, wind, and rain. The members that participated though are tough, and trudged through it all for over an hour until we finally stopped. The kids still managed to gather many items in a short time.
From 4 to 6 P.M. any members that wanted to stick around were treated to pizza and hide-and-seek tag in the school.
A VERY busy day, but also very productive and a great way to cap off this year.
